Denver-based band Devotchka is scheduled to appear live on “World Cafe” today with David Dye. You can listen to the interview and performance on KSUT starting at noon.

Later today, be sure to check back at ksut.org for our video of last week’s live in-studio performance by The Gourds.

And tonight, Maria’s Bookstore is hosting an Ed Abbey Celebration at 6:30 p.m.  Ken Wright, one of the authors of the excellent San Juan Almanac blog, along with other local writers, readers and fans, will discuss Abbey’s significance, especially to the Southwest region.

Then onto St. Patty’s Day: Tomorrow’s “World Cafe” will have Dye talking to producer Steve Lillywhite about the making of the new U2 album, No Line on the Horizon. The rest of the show will be a special celebration of St. Patrick’s Day and feature a mix of bands from Ireland. Again, you can listen on KSUT at noon.

And if you’re looking for somewhere to celebrate after work, check out this round-up of Durango and Pagosa St. Patty’s Day events on BeerNBikes.com.
