The Colorado Broadcasters Association Awards of Excellence Gala took place on Saturday in Denver. The CBA Awards are designed to honor individual and station excellence within the Colorado Broadcast industry and to celebrate broadcasters service to their communities. Stations compete in a variety of categories with judging of entrees administered by another states broadcast association.

KSUT’s news director Victor Locke received first place for “Best Public Affairs Programming”, for a series he produced on the 2008 Durango Independent Film Festival. Locke and news reporter Sarah Baumgartner took second place for “Best Single Event News Coverage”, for their coverage of John McCain’s campaign stop in Durango.
