There’s so much going on at this year’s SXSW it’s hard to know where to begin.  Here’s a quick guide to doing the music part of the multi-pronged festival digitally:

First and foremost, go to ksut.org and scroll to the middle of the page. That’s where you’ll find the SXSW NPR stream. Starting at 11 p.m. ET today, Wednesday, March 18, you can also go to NPR’s Music SXSW Concert Calendar to listen and to see the schedule of upcoming live webcasts. It’s the next best thing to actually being there. First up is Heartless Bastards, a knock-your-socks-off, female-fronted indie band from Ohio.

Check NPR’s SXSW page daily, if not hourly.

Download the NPR SXSW free music sampler. Do it. Do it now.

Follow the boys from All Songs Considered on Twitter.

Subscribe to the SXSW Music News RSS Feed.

And do a random Google or two for “best bands at SXSW 2009” and “SXSW superstars” just to see what pops up.
