Is Frank Zappa’s widow being bratty?

According to an NPR News story, Frank Zappa’s widow doesn’t really want Zappa’s music being covered, unless bands pay the licensing fees, and even then she says some of the music might be just too complicated to be played by other musicians.

“I want people to play Frank’s music,” she says. “Go ahead; try. Don’t hurt yourself, but just try it.”

Give the interview a listen (the director’s cut of the NPR story has more to it) and let us know what you think about Zappa cover bands like Object/Project.  Should they or shouldn’t they perpetuate songs like “Chunga Basement”?
