Did you miss the Kelly Willis and Bruce Robison in-studio at KSUT?

Check out last Friday’s in-studio on KSUT with Kelly Willis and Bruce Robison. They were in town for two Music in the Mountains performances: “Texas Twang” at Durango Mountain Resort on Friday evening; and Boot Jack Ranch in Pagosa Springs on Saturday night.

Named by National Public Radio as “alternative country’s golden goddess,” Kelly Willis has a “stunning voice that combines honky-tonk sass with bruised vulnerability,” according to the Los Angeles Times. Willis’ career began nearly 20 years ago, when she attracted the notice of such influential Texas singer-songwriters as Nanci Griffith and Lyle Lovett. She’s been a recording chart ranker since 1990 and after a five-year hiatus, is back with Translated From Love, a recording that explores the funkier side of her country roots.

Heralded by Billboard Magazine as “one of the best new breed of singer-songwriters in Texas and beyond,” Bruce Robison has made an indelible impression on the country music scene. He has written #1 hits for country music legends such as George Strait, Dixie Chicks, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill. In his latest album-his eighth- The New World, he takes everyday reality and makes it new again with deeply felt songs that are heartbreaking, hilarious, sweet and stirring.
