Everyone loves a long weekend, including radio programmers. We’ll help you celebrate the July Fourth holiday with some radio specials, and of course, The Capitol Steps.

Denny kicks off Monday morning with a summertime Blend from 9-noon, followed by The World Cafe.

Check out our afternoon lineup:

1:00 Steve Winwood Radio Special:  Features an extensive interview and 50 years of classic tracks from all phases of his career with the Spencer Davis Group, Traffic, Blind Faith and solo projects.

2:00 Carole King & James Taylor Radio Special: The duo shared the stage in 1971 at the Troubadour Club in Los Angeles to celebrate the club’s 50th anniversary.  Both have grown as singers and songwriters over the years, but the chemistry remains the same. This special features highlights from that concert as well as interviews with the artists, their friends and collaborators.

3:00 Garrison Keillor with the day’s Writer’s Almanac, followed by some holiday tunes with Kenny B.

3:30 Capitol Steps Politics Takes a Holiday July Fourth Special: Vice President Joe Biden recently declared the Capitol Steps Politics Takes a Holiday radio show “a big @#$%ing deal.”  So tune in before Congress repeals it!
