The 29th annual Great Western Rocky Mountain Brass Band Festival will bring the old-fashioned sound of John Phillip Sousa and others to Silverton this weekend (8/20-22).

The event features four free concerts for the public under the big tent at the town’s Kendall Mountain Recreation Area.

The free concerts will be at 7 p.m. Friday, noon and 7 p.m. Saturday and noon on Sunday. The festival brings dozens of top-notch musicians from around the country to the spectacular setting in Silverton to recreate the Golden Age of Brass Bands.
