The week ahead: interview, in-studio and feature CD from The Greencards; a chat with The Iguanas; and a guest from The Safe Roads Coalition

Join us Wednesday morning at 10:06 for a conversation with Kym Warner, one of the founding members of The Greencards about how the band got started, got their name, and their new CD: The Brick Album (this Friday’s feature at noon). The Greencards also join us Saturday at noon for an in-studio performance and interview prior to their gig at our 35th Anniversary Celebration at Ska Brewing World Headquarters at 4 PM on Saturday.

On Thursday, we’ll hear from Rod Hodges, guitarist, accordionist and vocalist with The Iguanas at around 3:15. Durangoans love this band, and with good reason. Don’t miss their return to town Saturday evening at 6 at Ska and see what all the hoopla is about.

And, on Friday, we’ll talk with a representative from the Safe Roads Coalition, the beneficiary of the annual Brewer’s Tour bike trek from Boulder to Durango.

Tune-in, and join us Saturday at Ska Brewing World Headquarters from 2-9 PM.

Wheelsucking Brewers enroute to KSUT’s 35th Anniversary Celebration

On July 18th 2011, 17 brewer-cyclists from Avery, Oskar Blues, Sierra Nevada and Ska departed on their bicycles from Avery Brewing in Boulder to kick off the 3rd Annual Tour of Bouldurango; a six day, 470 mile odyssey over 9 mountain passes from Boulder to Durango. En route, these twelve hearty souls will be raising money for charity and stopping at breweries to encourage the fledgling spirit of collaboration and camaraderie that has taken hold in the craft beer industry.

The Wheelsucking Brewers are now enroute back to Durango on their ride to benefit the Safe Roads Coalition. They’ll arrive at Ska Brewing, just in time for KSUT’s 35th anniversary party on Saturday at 2:00. Follow Dave’s blog here: http://wheelsuckingbrewers.blogspot.com/.
